Configuring Win2008 AD in Win2008 Server
1)Server Manager
2)ROles --> Add role
3)Select Active Directory Domain Services Role(ADDS).
4)Dcpromo
5)Domain Functional Level Pick the lowest level avalible in your enivronment.
6)Directory Services Restore mode is used for recovery if AD blows up.
7)Second DC if you just run dcpromo that would auomate the ADDS role also.
Notes :
SYSVOL: This is the shared folder required by DC's to talk to each other during replication
NTDS.DIT: is the database for AD very important.
Replication Sync between DC:repadmin /syncall and f5 on server manager.
